Full Description

This eLearning course aims to give participants an understanding of the principles of Safer Recruitment and to recognise why this is important with regards to the safeguarding and welfare of children. 


This course will also give participants an overview of safer recruitment processes in relation to best practice.

On completing this course participants should be able to:


  • Describe the definition of safeguarding and be able to identify the safeguarding and welfare requirements of the Early years foundation stages (EYFS).
  • Implement effective recruitment policies and procedures.
  • Recognise the importance of enhanced DBS checks and in seeking appropriate references.
  • Recognise the links between safer recruitment, effective induction and regular supervision [Performance Management].
